GPT Pilot ✈️ - Create Fullstack app with a SINGLE PROMPT

GPT Pilot is a true AI developer that writes code, debugs it, talks to you when it needs help, etc.

You specify what kind of app you want to build. Then, GPT Pilot asks clarifying questions, creates the product and technical requirements, sets up the environment, and starts coding the app step by step, like in real life, while you oversee the development process. It asks you to review each task it finishes or to help when it gets stuck. This way, GPT Pilot acts as a coder while you are a lead dev who reviews code and helps when needed.

I’ve been having a lot of issues with GPT Pilot. It needs some maturity. It can handle basic stuff but if you throw anything of complexity at it, it runs into versioning issues and deprecated code issues and all kinds of problems. It went into a crazy install/uninstall loop using JS to create a simple blog app using nodejs on both my 2022 MacBook Pro and a custom built gaming desktop running Fedora.

I had issues using my own OPENAI key. I found the .env file that needed to be updated was in <installation folder>/gpt-pilot/pilot/.env
