Alot of people don't quite realize that in Norse mythology, the giants are just another faction of god. Aesir, Vanir and Jotunn all have abilities and powers.

In the canon, Mjolnir is extremely heavy, even kratos has problems lifting it, as well as Thrud and the King of the giants was able to steal it from Thor when he was sleeping.

Thor easily killed the king and his guests, not to mention we see the body of Thamor impaled by the chisel as well as the feat of hitting Jormungander back through time.

Thor is to the Giants as Kratos was to the Greek Pantheon.

Thor is no one to underestimate.
