Many people in India and Europe are polyglots, speaking 3 or more languages. Some Americans are bilingual, speaking 2 languages (for example, Spanish and English). Everyone in my family is a monoglot (is that a word ?), speaking only one language.

If you take a very figurative meaning of polyglot, one could say I am a polyglot:
I speak the language of love, the language of music, and the language of American English.

I do aim to be a polyglot. However it is easier planned than done. 😂😂

For speakers of Romance Languages ( Spanish, French, Italian, …), it's a lot easier to master another language from the same lingua family. Hence I somewhat doubt if it is fair to call them polyglot. Usually people in southern China who speak both Mandarin and Cantonese don't consider themselves bilingual.

I think it more interesting and challenging to learn a totally different language. New alphabet, new stroke of the character (may even look like weird totem ), new sounds, new word order. Every step is a small accomplishment. Meanwhile leaning a totally different language from one's mother tongue entails much more practice and longer time to achieve fluency. Bittersweet pleasure. 😂

Anyway, thank you so much for making these videos. They are very helpful! If more root meaning could be mentioned in coming videos, it's even nicer!
Thank you! Gracias! 谢谢! ありがとう!
