In protecting you, God could as well appear to your adversary in a dream warning them or instructing them to stay off or desist from any thoughts to harm you. When Abimelech took Sarah as his wife and would have slept with her, God appeared to him in a dream warning him to return Sarah to her husband. Otherwise, he would have to face the consequence. The whole incident is recorded in Genesis 20; God always want to communicate to his children. In battle and even in our daily activities, we would agree that communication is very important. Once communication lines are down between a general and his soldier, the enemy is at a great advantage and the people become easily exposed. Dreams are part of God’s communication lines even though the devil tries to use this medium as well to distort and tamper with people’s life.
Dreams are also one of the gifts promised to God’s children in Joel 2:28. Sometimes, the dreams might not be direct and take up the form of a proverb or allegory. Asking God for wisdom or meeting with people who are gifted at interpreting dreams would not be out order here. The fact is that God will always protect his own as long as you remain under the shadow of his protection. How do you stay under his wings? Psalm 91:1; says, “He that dwell in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the almighty.” God has said he would not do a thing without first revealing it to his own. You only get these secrets revealed when you are at the secret place of God and the important thing is to act on the instructions one has been given. Abimelech took heed to God’s warning and he was saved together with his whole family. The wombs of his wives that had been closed earlier were opened and things were restored to normal for him. Joseph also took heed to the instructions he had been given and so, was able to preserve the life of the child Jesus.

We don’t always have people in our lives who can inspire us to follow our dreams. Fortunately, we can reflect on the wise words of others, and these ideas can serve as teachers that motivate us to chase after our goals and desires. You have to chase your dreams, no matter what. The impossible just takes a little longer. One stroke at a time, one step at a time, the impossible is easy to achieve.
