Teaching My Parrot Multiple Choice

Working with Apollo on the new table. This seems to be a much more natural way for him to learn and despite all of the distractions in a setting like this he does great. He seemed to insist on the paper bowl things being balls, I wonder why that is.

Apollo is our 4 year-old African Grey parrot we've had since December 2020.

Follow us to see what happens when you raise a talking parrot as a human!

Sometimes when he's stuck, he'll just touch something else, invent a question, and then answer it

I love how whenever he touches the wrong thing he says what it's called. He probably wants to prove he isn't stupid, he's just touching the wrong thing on purpose.

its so cool how he isnt just able to recite the names of objects, but also pick them out from a group.

'what makes something a ball' is not a question that i thought would actually trip me up today

Can't help but notice how his accuracy goes down when the other birds are on the table with him, but when he's alone on the table he gets it on the first try more often. The others playing with the items during study time is throwing him off. Just found it funny how he doesn't wanna look like a nerd in front of his friends. lol

what makes something a ball is it the roundness. the bounce. the percentage of which it is a sphere...
apollo is really making us ask the big questions. a true philosopher of our times

I love how he threw the bowl and said "ball" with great authority. He genuinely thinks that it is a ball

I will never not love the little answers that turn into questions "it's a ball..?"

I just love how he still insist on Shrock instead of Shrek. Like he renamed it and dont ever wanna change it. Funny thing is whenever I see a shrek picture, gif etc. I call it shrock also. It is hilarous.

I adore that you're not fighting his natural destructive tendencies and instead using them to teach him. That's an amazingly brilliant way to teach!

We have an African Grey at our hotel lobby, recently taught him how to give me a kiss and finally started bonding with him, they are an absolutely amazing and intelligent birds. Wouldn't have even tried bonding with him if it wasn't for your videos guys! Thanks for the amazing work you are doing!

Apollo definitely does not need an invitation to throw bottle, lol!

at 3:48 he kicks the bowl out of his way 😂 and I've NEVER heard him being upset and saying I want my snack at 6:09 😂it's because Dalton kept messing with his pistash trying to put it on the ball but it kept falling through and getting stuck, and when he finally succeeded Ophelia snatched it from Apollo 🤣I DEMAND MY OVERDUE SNACK

I’m fascinated by how he seems more reliable on identifying materials than he does items. Really interesting.
