I got a Hahns mini macaw about a week ago. The need to be close at all times is definitely new to me! I've always had parakeets and they tend to not want to be around me so much. But this little baby wants to be on me 24/7! Definitely going to order some foraging toys, I can barely get anything done around the house 😂

I struggled with my Indian Ring Neck until I kept leaving her alone for a couple hours with my other birds and now she got used to that system. Few hours with me, few hours of her alone with other birds. It took a while though, but worth it haha. Now she’s independent and is happy ☺️ I do have a question though does it matter if I give my parrot 2 different types of pellets? She eats ZUPREEM pellets. The ones that are NATURAL and the VEGGIE ones. She likes both, mostly the veggies haha but would it matter if one day she has the natural ones then the next day she has the veggie ones??🤔

My bird won't even go to the side of a cage when I try new toys and foraging toys.. she won't even get her food if I put it on the side where her food is.. she won't use her favorite perch or bed if it's near those areas as well.. it's really tough adding new toys.. I own a female parrotlet

Hello! I have just a question, it s ok if i put my parrot in the cage and i let him out multiple times a day? Is it bad that i put him back in (he gets a treat when he gets in the cage). I stay at home currently and i want to make him more independent cause since i got him i tried to bond with him, bur i didn’t realised i focuseze just on him in this month.

my birds cage is open all day and night and will stay on his cage untill 4 or 5 pm for his nut nut training and step up training or fly training after i give him fresh corn and that's him happy he will either sit with me for a bit or go back to his cage and eat his corn
