Maybe its kinda late at this point to bring up some tips, but when assaulting fortified positions, I would first weaken up defense by artillery bombardment for few min, then begin by breaking off scout units from multiple brigades and sending them first as cannon fodders, quickly followed up by the main assault units.

Casualties might be nearly the same but your force is far more cohesive and you are in a far better tactical position than you were in the previous play.

HG, Glad to see your reboot here. If not too much of a problem could you post your pre-battle Army Org that you did. I feel this is very over-looked on reboots. Thx in advance!

Given your better situation, if the Union plays as indecisive on the counterattack as your first try in the north, and you concentrate on one fort with more men in the south, I see no reason why you can't defeat them. The AI artillery will be about out of ammunition by the time the battlefield opens up so the 700 guns may not hurt as bad. I would say try and occupy the trench lines right of stevens on the counterattack part to lure him to Stevens as opposed to flanking your right and surrounding Slocum.
