LNP campaign was ‘somewhat derailed’ by abortion issue

Sky News contributor Des Houghton says the Liberal National Party will have a “comfortable” win of 10 to 13 seats despite the fact the abortion issue “somewhat derailed” the campaign.
The month leading up to the Queensland election had the LNP as the strong front-runner for office, but polling released yesterday showed Labor has narrowed the gap.
“The abortion issue derailed the campaign somewhat – I think it was over six or eight months ago when Annastacia Palaszczuk was toppled,” Mr Houghton told Sky News Australia.
“I still believe the LNP will end up with a 10 or 13-seat majority over all the other members of parliament.
“I think the win will be comfortable.”
