COVID-19: Myanmar struggles with lack of oxygen supplies

Myanmar is struggling with a lack of medical oxygen supplies as it battles its most serious wave of COVID-19. There were more than 5,000 new cases on Jul 12, a new record. State media said a third of the people tested were found to be positive.

Just now, I just go out to buy some foods and medicines.
All the shops and drug stores are are shut down by military.
I couldn't even buy an egg.

most of the people tested positive just stay at home and take care of themselves coz the hospitals are overwhelmed, health system collapsed and hospitals even just tell them to go back home and take good care of themselves. there were over 500 people died from lacking of oxygen today in yangon city alone(imagine the whole country). people who died outside of the hospitals are not counted. the real numbers are a lot a lot higher than the numbers released by the junta controlled departments .

Around 4000 people died from covid in Yangon this week. Everything in Myanmar is expensive except lives. Oxygen, medicines and even eggs.

Why are they keeping covid patients in the hospital that don’t need oxygen? The hospitals are full and can be used to treat people that actually need to be in the hospital.

India lack of oxygen, Indonesia lack of oxygen now Myanmar lack of oxygen. Singapore better have a stock plie ready before they open up just incase we need it.

This patients should go to China and ask for help. Since China like to help Myanmar. China should open their border and let patients get treatment in China. China is a very generous country. The only way to help Myanmar is China open their border to Myanmar people.

What else? Not enough hospital beds? Not enough doctors & nurses ? Not enough vaccines? Not enough PPE ? Not enough ventilators ? Not enough cemeteries?

And, of course, given the government of the place is an international pariah again complicates things. Presumably you-know-who will pick up the tab to help cement Myanmars vassal state status.
