Mould 79: What is inside this Vintage Pottery Mould?

This is the series where I reveal what is inside these pottery moulds I found on Gumtree.

To check out the Mouldy Bisquits DIY Pottery Painting kits head to

The story goes, I found a listing on gumtree for pottery stuff. When I arrived the seller said 'I have all these pottery moulds would you like them as well?' and I said 'why not'. On the way home, I had the brain child to do a social media video series revealing what each mould is.

The mystery is in the fact that I had no idea what I had said yes to, some of the moulds are labelled and easy to tell but some of them are a little more difficult. The beauty is that all of the plaster moulds surprise you no matter the presentation of labels, titles or identifiable surface inside.

So come join me as I dive into this series and share the mould fun. I would love to hear any information you may have on the moulds and to let me know any stories you have that the moulds remind you of in the comments.

These are lovely! You really turned lemons into lemonade here 🍋🐴 I’m glad you didn’t give up, and you could still make awesome colorful Lisa Frank horse/unicorn mugs someday

Being from the US, I could see the horse cups with a western feel. The glaze color on the mugs was reminiscent of the sunsets or sands of the southwestern deserts and horses fit perfectly with that. Not sure about the gold with the theme but you definitely turned the piece into something unique.

the fact that you are finding so much fun even when you fail warms my heart.

THESE ARE MY FAVORITE PIECES YOU HAVE EVER DONE!!! I have watched every single one of your videos and look forward to them every week. I’m not a potter, but I love art and watching you work. These are so beautiful!!! I love the glazes and I love how you cut the horse heads off and stuck them on mugs and I’m with you—the white horses looked cool against the glazes, too, but I just absolutely love the gold!! These are so awesome!

The gold is wonderfully shiny! I like the contrast between it and the soft colors on the rest of the pieces.

I actually love these so much. Would be beautiful for paintbrush holder or something. It's a bummer though about the mould of the foal not working.

Between your Australian accent and all the horse talk, this brought me back to my Saddle Club/horse girl days in a really fun way. 😂 I think you did a great job with the mugs!

Shelby! I am IN LOVE with these!! So glad you came up with the idea to put the horse heads on mugs and didn't let the mould defeat you!

I love the commentary ❤️😁🤣
I like that you at least tried to do something with the mold. The multiple layers on the mugs was very pretty.

I just want to say how much I love watching your videos where you have to fight against things not working right. I love getting to see that process. I've started my own YouTube channel, and I'm definitely posting videos where I have to struggle through!!! I just feel like it's so helpful to see- it's a struggle for everyone, even when you know what you're doing!!

I love the way you added the head to the mug! I can see that working on the little dish you made as well to make some sort of ring dish or jewelry catch-all.

Maybe when you are looking for inspiration you could retry some of the moulds you weren't totally happy with. Like a redemption series! It's been so fun to watch you experiment with new techniques through this series and revisiting some might be fun ☺️

I think putting the head on the mug was a great save! I appreciate the effort you put into them to make them something someone might enjoy and appreciate instead of just scraping the mold entirely!
