A detail that’s often missed: you can use LB3 against the add, as right when the first Oblivion countdown starts, LB3 is instantly fully replenished.

i wanna say thanks for keeping the details of the in-fight cutscene secret! I watched this ahead of my first playthrough and was able to stay alive pretty well while also being able to experience all the important bits for the first time during my playthrough

I just got to this point earlier today and after watching a few times beforehand, I was able to complete it without dying thanks to your breakdowns (as has been the case with some other dungeons / trials).

This was great -- thank you! I've only been playing the game for a few months and just got here with my main (BRD). I watched this three times while I was in the queue, and I was sure I'd die repeatedly and be a nuisance, maybe even contribute to a wipe -- but I never died and we cleared it on my first try! This helped me a lot with the mechanics and knowing where to go when things started getting hot and heavy, and whenever I was in doubt about a mechanic, I just followed the rest of the group that was running to a spot, most of whom know this trial well and knew exactly where to go. (Except for the mechanic where we have to spread out to avoid overlapping damage, of course.)

Unless I've just been lucky seeing the same pattern an improbable amount of times: it seems the slow planet always rotates 90 degrees in its given direction before detonating. Hope this helps all BLMs and other folks out there trying to do minimal footwork.

I have cleared this trial but it’s really nice to get a full explanation of the explosion I was in that the healers had to heal through.
