if you warm the fake leather with an hairdryer it wil more readily fold, stretch and crease to fit where you want, avoids slitting corners with knives and looks much better, also contact adhesive needs putting on bith surfaces then banging together to make a far better connection

Well done! This looks really great....I’ve got one that needs doing but it looks like a lot of work and craft went into doing that....not sure I’m confident I could get a good enough finish on mine.

This video was just classic - what someone can do when they know how. I have one exactly with the same fault - gave it to our local Repair & Share place - but after much ado - it was returned to me with the Radio still not working. Would you take it on and repair it for me please? It was a present to my daughter and wants it working.

what is the 'cable' that you use to insert in the groove where the fabrics meet? Just need to know what description I'm searching for? or is that simply replacing what was already there?

Your work is top class, but is it really worth it? I find this brand of radios of a very cheap quality, that break down without any help. They have a premium look, but that's about it. The internet is littered with these radios shedding their cheap skin.
