Dharmendra (born Dharam Singh Deol; 8 December 1935) is an Indian film actor. In 1997, he received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to Hindi cinema.His starring roles in action films earned him nicknames such as "Action King" and "He-Man".One of his most notable roles was in Sholay (1975).He has been a member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India, representing Bikaner constituency in Rajasthan from Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP). In 2012, he was honoured India's third highest civilian honour Padma Bhushan by the Government of India.

Senior Deol aka Dharmendra is not only one of the most handsome men, he is also a gem of a person.

I once attended the birthday party of one of my professor’s son in ‘95 in Pune where Dharmendra was one of the guests.

My friends and I spent an hour in the same room with him. He shook hands with each and everyone, and I can tell from my personal experience he is an amazing human being.

When he was about to leave, he turned around and touched the feet of my professor’s parents. Mind you, they were only a few years senior to Dharmendra. This simple gesture on Dharmendra’s part showed the kind of person he is. He didn’t have to do it, but he did it anyways. Needless to say, all the guests at the party were shocked to see him show his respect the way he did. God bless him.
