How will the AAF make the NFL BETTER?

Is the Alliance of American Football going to stick around forever? Maybe, maybe not.

Like a strong cup of coffee to wake us up after a Super Bowl that put us to sleep, the AAF may ultimately just be a fad like the USFL, the XFL, the UFL, or Antonio Brown’s bleached mustache.

But that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy it right now. And it doesn’t mean that this upstart league is without significance. The mark of any successful new football league, dating back to 1960, isn’t its ability to compete with the NFL, it’s the ability to force the NFL to adapt.

To get better. To correct problems that it wasn’t aware of until another league pointed them out.

The AAF’s legacy will come down to how it changes the NFL, and I’m going to tell you how it will, right after this…

On the commercials! Go with the international soccer format with no ads at all. Instead have alternating ads on the scoreboard every couple of minutes! Only have ads between quarters and if they is something like an extended stoppage (major injuries, Field issues, etc.).

You forgot the biggest contribution the USFL gave us! Jim Mora! Haha. Kidding. But the fact that league went wild on salaries eventually helped the NFL start paying more for players. The product has definitely changed exponentially since most players can just train during the off-season rather than do a part time job.
