Robert F. Kennedy Jr., President-elect Donald Trump's pick to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, is on Capitol Hill to garner support from senators ahead of his confirmation process. CBS News' Scott MacFarlane reports.

*Kennedy has done many great things for citizens in our country – at his own expense, in some cases.*

RFK Jr has taken on the cases of people from East Palestine, OH (Norfolk Southern chemical spill), has been a champion for protecting the traditional homelands of indigenous people, worked to clean and preserve the Hudson River and the people who make a living as fishermen – the list goes on. I would venture to say, he has done more for others than the average person in fighting for others rights and protections. He deserves far greater respect than the media if offering. Why hasn't the media been on top of all the corruption in the EPA, FDA?

The mainstream media has chosen to smear Kennedy and undermine him. The media gets a tremendous amount of advertising from Big Pharma, Big Food and other corporations that are fearful of Kennedy's stance on corporate capture of our government Public Health agencies. Of course he'll be smeared, just like Hillary Clinton was smeared in the 90's for working to get Universal Healthcare. People with power want to keep it and keep profiting from it. Although he has made some mistakes, I believe the bulk of his work has been been virtuous. Our Public Health system has been severely lacking since the 80s when I was in college. It's been long overdue for a significant overhaul.

I am a lifelong liberal who has voted Democratic since 1980. I have never voted for Trump. I am also an environmental health activist.

Mr. Kennedy, I have no supplemental insurance for pharmaceutical drugs. Other than my Medicare A&B which doesn't cover Drugs! Why does a one month supply of Entresto cost me over $700.00 at my local pharmacy???
Why does the United States citizens in comparison to the rest of the world have to pay 2.78 times more, higher for the same drugs? Compared to 33 other nations by the same manufacturer! It's time, Mr. Kennedy, maybe you to go after BIg Pharmaceutical MAGA 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
