As someone that was working at BK during the Halloween Whopper... It sold incredibly well. So well that the distributor was sold out of the buns nearly two weeks before Halloween, and during the few weeks we could still get them, it didn't matter how many we ordered, we sold out before the next truck every single time. Usually by the day after they arrived.

I remember the "McCrabCake" they tried out in Maryland. Not only did it taste bad, but McDonald's tried to pass it off as if it was made from Chesapeake Bay crab meat. When it came out that it wasn't Maryland crab, the backlash was swift and they pulled it from the menu.

The Wendys superbar was absolutely amazing when I was a kid. I do remember it suddenly disappearing though (only went to Wendys a few times a year) and that made me sad. I feel like I can still smell it and taste the food.

Now, working in a restaurant, I shudder to think about how dirty everything probably was.

11:55 The Super Size Me, "documentary" was so annoying. And was made with so much bad faith, the biggest problem being that he (Sperlock) refused to release logs of what he ate and no one else who attempted this experiment had the same results. Leading everyone to assume he was eating way more than just one meal at every meal.

Also it was revealed (about 2 years ago) that one of his main health complaints during the documentary was a preexisting condition from alcoholism (dying liver).

I almost wish that I had a time machine just so that I could go back in time and try some of these items (the 100 x 100 burger, especially)

I worked at Pizza Hut in the early '90s. I commented to my manager how my girlfriend and I loved the Priazzo back in the mid-80s. He replied that it had sold well, but was simply too expensive, especially the spiral metal combs used as heat sinks to cook the middle of the pie.

Burger King fun fact: The company was founded in 1953 as Insta-Burger King, a Jacksonville, FL based chain with locations in just FL at the time. After Insta-Burger King ran into financial difficulties in 1954, two of their Miami-based franchisees (David Egerton and James McLamore) purchased the company and renamed it to Burger King. Their world headquarters is still in Miami. The Burger King is a Florida Man confirmed.

When I was in high school, I remember stopping at Burger King with some of my friends.
It was during the Table Service hours, which was weird enough at face value, but that night, there was a magician there, which was just totally random.

Remember the McDLT? It was a burger in a two chambered styrofoam container that was supposed to keep the hot side hot and the cool side cool. It failed because the containers weren't environmentally friendly if I recall correctly.

In the Philippines they like to have their spaghetti sweet with banana ketchup rather than a tomato-based sauce. The history behind this is banana ketchup was invented during WWII when there was a shortage of tomatoes but plenty of bananas. Combine the two scenarios, and you get the solution of a yellow-brown banana sauce mixed with spices and vinegar dyed red as a substitute for tomato ketchup (and it's delicious).

The genius behind this, Maria Orosa, already came up with so many innovations (including 700 recipes) like this one from freezing mangoes to the palayok oven (which enabled families without electricity to bake) to combat the country's malnutrition, which she returned to the Philippines to do in 1922 after rejecting a job offer at the Washington State government. And she was a leading member of the resistance against Japan. If it wasn't for her, thousands upon thousands of Filipinos and Americans alike would've died of malnutrition. Since then, banana ketchup became a popular condiment of choice for Filipinos. Why do they put hot dogs on their spaghetti? Well...let's just say they were introduced to a lot of processed stuff during American colonization.

Man I’m glad I never got into the fast food biz. It’s probably one of the most stressful and cutthroat gigs on the planet
