Resistor Color Code Chart Tutorial Review - Physics

This physics video tutorial explains how to use the resistor color code chart to determine the value of the resistance of a resistor in an electric circuit. It explains how to use the chart to find the first two digits, the multiplier and the tolerance level which can be used to determine the range in which the true resistance lies in. This review tutorial also contains a few examples and practice problems for you to learn the concept in addition to converting resistance values from ohms to kiloohms and megaohms.

I read my text book multiple times and still couldn't figure it out. I watched your video and in less than 2 minutes, it actually makes sense. Thanks buddy.

Almost 3 years ago when I started watching this channel's tutorial, I was a Civil Engineering student back then, but sadly I failed one of my subjects in which led me to being a shiftee for another course which is electronics, I did not expect to stumble on this channel again for this tutorial and Im glad😂

So many people has a problem in understanding the conversion of for example like you nicely explained it, converting from kilo ohms to mega ohms. Well done

I really regret having "electronics" as an elective.

59 years ago I was a freshman at Don Bosco in Boston and in the electronics course, We went through the color code in detail and I still remember the drill.

0.Black
1. Brown
2. Red
3 Org
4. Yel
5 Grn
6. Blu
7 Vio
8. Gry
9. Wht

A few years later i was in school at Ft Monmouth where I was taught this politically incorrect ditty to lock it in -

0. Bad
1. Boys
2. Rape
3. Our
4. Young
5. Girls
6. But
7. Violet
8. Gives
9. Willingly

As politically incorrect as it is it sure as hell works.

Thanks.
I have always sucked at math and being slightly dyslexic doesn't help. I really struggled with binary/hex when I was A+Certified wen the dinosaurs roamed the Earth, but you made it easy to understand. I'm 61 an have been a auto tech most of my life. I was fixing ECM issues back when there was no internet and I had to go to he library to get resistance values for sensors. It was around $40k for 'Alldata' system, and I couldn't afford that, so I had to make due. Most private shops would turn ECM issues away and just send them to the dealer.

I am semi retired and live off grid, so I do stupid things like switch an inverter on without disconnecting a generator first. That is something transfer switch would handle, but I took me blowing 2 inverters to find out I can't trust myself and I get in too much of a hurry sometime. I am getting good at diagnosing circuit boards and am waiting for MOFSET's to repair both inverters. I know there are MOFSET drivers as well and will cross that bridge when I get to it. That will be soon. I hope he blown MOFSET's acted like a fuse before it got to the drivers. I am familiar with software/hardware drivers, but IC hardware drivers are a mystery to me right now.

When you feed out of phase power into a circuit with a generator, the inverter will lose every time and fuses are useless because the 'alien' power is coming in reverse, and it happens before you can say "oh shit", and you cannot react fast enough to avoid damage. It appears that MOFSET's will asplode very quickly...But I have also had MOFSET's melt in small inverters for no apparent reason other than them being cheapo inverters that fail if the input voltage gets too low too many times and heat up.

THer is a protection circut tha is thhere and souns an alarm, but I am always sucking my batteries down to 10 VDC in tthe winter, because I'm too lazy to get out in the -0° and fire a generator
