Here are the Multitracks so you can follow along:

Cakewalk users, there is a BUN file in the folder as well so you can open everything up right inside Cakewalk easily.

Check our Sophia Jane's work here:

This channel is all about helping home studio owners and musicians release music they are proud of. I do this through tutorials, Cakewalk training, gear reviews, interviews with Audio Industry leaders, and breakdowns of chart topping songs.

We can dream alone, we can create alone, but together we can achieve so much more.

Oh my goodness!!! For the first time in my years in dealing with production, recording, and mixing, you have the best examples of how compression properly works and defined words in laymen's terms. I've had Cakewalk by bandlab since they released it but it completely frustrated me to the point of not using it. Thank you so much for "turning the light on".

Only watched 3mins and can already say thanks for this! I will of course study the rest but I mean that this is what I was looking for so long. Please keep up doing these „long“ detailed in-depth lessons. The only personal comment would be that the mood in this video (colors, music, voice) are a little sleepy and… people like me should learn from this and not use it as good-night-tale 😅
Thanks again.

Very helpful, great video. Thank you.

P.s. Very tempted to sample your human beatbox bassline and make a track with it.

4:1 will mean that every 4 db over the threshold will become 1 db after compression applied? So 15:3 is 5:1 compression not too far from 4:1? Maybe I am wrong I always thought it was a scale nomenclature system, like die cast cars! Thank you for your great information

Just a suggestion. I think that you should made more drastic changes for the amateur listener to understand what he's hearing. For example, changing attack time from 50 to 75 may be impossible for the novice to distinguish. But if you go from 50 to an extreme example they'll have a better understanding of what to listen for.
