Starlink sent an email to all Starlink Residential users with portability currently enabled letting them know they can continue to use this feature unless they change plans.

In the email it notes that portability is no longer being offered as an add-on option for any new Residential customers.

Starlink also notes in the email they are changing the way portability is charged.

I have the grandfathered in residential with roaming.this is great but there is one caveat. I helped my Dad change his residential only to roaming which caused his bill to go up to $165. With that service he now gets in motion use and is able to mount it to the back of his van permanently in the flat position. When he is a home his service covers his house and when he is on the road he also gets service and can make calls even where there is no cell service even video calls. There is no setup at his campsite. It works great. I however have the old plan and do not have the option to set my antenna to the flat position. I expect we will have to change to the new plan eventually and pay the extra $20 per month

We have a residential with portability plan now. We spend six to seven months at our "residence" and the rest of the year traveling in the RV. I saw noticed on my Starlink account page that the fine print indicates that if you switch to Regional Roam then your Residential service may not be available when you want to return back to it when you are done roaming. I think we'll keep our current residential-portability plan. It guarantees that we'll have residential access when we're at home and then transition seamlessly to to portability when we travel (and back again to residential when we return home).

How does priority plan improve then the $110 dollar plan?

Your video title is misleading - as portability is apparently still in place for the other 3 classes of uses (Regional Roming (RV), Global Roaming, & Maritime). Starlink is modifying terms for the residential class of users, ONLY...

So, if I currently have portability, but want to shut it off for a few months, while I'm at my home address, can I then switch to a roaming plan while I travel for the winter?

What's the latest on Marine use. If I'm near but not on an island in a country that has roam available, will I receive service or be blocked? How far offshore can I go before being blocked? For example, if I'm in the FLA Keys and 5 miles offshore, will I get service?
