This is an audio demo to let you hear the difference between the Telefunken M36, a military recorder built for use in tanks from the early 1970's, and the Telefunken M15a studio recorder from the late 1970's. Both these recoorders are the pinnacle of Telefunken engineering, both are build for totally different purposes. The audio is taken directly from the line out of both recorders. The tape used is BASF SM911, on pancacke for the M15a, and on 5" spool for the M36. Both recorder run at 19cm/s (7.5ips). When you see the respective recorder on screen, than the audio out of that recorder is playing.

The Telefunken M15a has a problem reproducing the right channel correctly. Electronical or alignment.

M15 sounds just like a good cassette deck. So, engineers really improve technologies and devices for their salary, right? )

M15 плохо настроен - есть сильный провал АЧХ на средних частотах
