Horus was so jacked up on warp and Chaos shit but the wounds he inflicted on Big E were no ordinary wounds and were not healing via his powers as a perpetual. I wonder what would have actually happened if, somehow miraculously, the webway “closed” and they didn’t have to put the emperor on the throne. Would he have slipped into a coma? Would he have died and his soul ascended into the warp actually becoming the fifth Chaos God? Curious, to say the least…

I doubt Malcador would be consumed in his after-life. His power would be like that of trying to possess a human, only to find out. He is now consuming them.

Funny to think that if they did just let the emperor alone, he would have eventually just regenerated himsel...

But, i doubt the custodes were dumb enough to not know this. We can therefore speculate that Horus' chaos juiced strikes negated the Emperor's perpetualness, thus making his wounds lethal.
