If you are looking for the most secure VPN, then look no further. I’ve narrowed it down to three options, one of which will definitely work for you! What is the most secure VPN and what are the standards of security - these are the questions I’m answering today.

Let’s begin with a brief rundown of things I consider paramount for the secure VPN to have:

Unbreakable encryption
Secure tunneling protocols
Kill switch
DNS and IP leaks prevention
Security focused features
No-logs

I know some of them sound unclear, but don’t worry, you’ll see exactly what is secure VPN once we get into the reviews of the most secure VPN 2022.

=== NordVPN: ===

For instance, NordVPN fulfills the first point with the ChaCha20 encryption algorithm. Which is unbreakable, unless you have a millenia on your hands. This encryption is a part of NordLynx tunneling protocol. NordLynx, being based on WireGuard, is arguably the most secure VPN protocol, as it improves on WireGuard’s security.

I’ve tested NordVPN for leaks, and in my experience there's no DNS or IP leaks to worry about. This is mostly Kill switch in place, since this feature prevents leaks during network instability.

Amongst the VPN security features, I want to highlight CyberSec that detects malicious links and removes ads. Nice, but I like specialty servers even more: they can add up to security and be useful for citizens of China and similar countries.

NordVPN can even prove useful to gamers and programmers working remotely: Meshnet allows them to access distant devices through a secure tunnel. No need to use tools like Hamachi or Teamviewer.

=== Surfshark: ===

While NordVPN is a good secure VPN, I have a hunch that Surfshark has a few stronger points. On the surface a lot is similar: the ChaCha20 encryption with the WireGuard protocol, a kill switch, features for leak prevention and ad removal. Surfshark even has Multi-hop, a feature that chains servers similar to NordVPN’s Double VPN. And NoBorders mode that’s functionally just like Obfuscated servers, aimed to access restricted countries.

But Surfshark might be the best VPN provider for security because of the Surfshark One bundle. This is an extra suite of cybersecurity apps, containing a secure search engine, a Dark Web monitor and an Antivirus as well! While the first two are nothing new in the VPN world, Surfshark is the only secure VPN app so far to offer an antivirus bundled with itself. Unfortunately right now Surfshark One costs extra, which is a big demerit to many.

On the privacy side, Surfshark is located in the Netherlands. While this country is a part of the 14-eyes alliance, Surfshark has pieces in play to remediate that. Notably RAM-only servers and an audited no-logs policy.

ProtonVPN:

Next in my list is ProtonVPN, which comes with a slightly different security approach. The basics are similar, of course. ProtonVPN also uses WireGuard, so ChaCha20 encryption is expected. The kill switch is present as well, quite functional too.

ProtonVPN also has NetShield - a feature for removing ads, trackers and malicious files online, this time using DNS filtering for the optimal result. Instead of NordVPN’s specialty servers, ProtonVPN can offer extra-secure VPN servers they directly own. If only they had more varied countries, a choice of Sweden, Switzerland and Iceland is a poor one.

Next is the main point of ProtonVPN’s security and privacy too. ProtonVPN is open-source, meaning that its source code can be checked by anyone. This allows skilled people to ascertain for themselves if ProtonVPN has any undesirable features or log-keeping capabilities. Notably, it doesn’t. Which is great, and with the Switzerland jurisdiction it gets even better. Plus, ProtonVPN has an independently audited no-logs policy.

I like NORD VPN don't get me wrong the problem I have with NORD Is their customer support. Is lousy. I lost all my data from my Samsung Tablet because my router got burned. I ask my provider for a new router which they supply for free. I got all my data back but my tablet never can recuperate. I chat with NORD VPN for technical support but I never can get my Nord VPN for my tablet. Maybe they think I want it for free. I paid for 3 years of service. I was thinking they can help me out but it was a no-no. they r the best but technical support is not that great. thanks for the video. have a nice n blessed day
