My mother was an artist. An actual artist who used talent, skill and technique to create beautiful images that people wanted in their homes. Almost all of what passes for "art" these days is trash.

Some of the art I see in art museums is literally like a two-inch red dot smack in the center of a 34 by 40 white canvas. Some of the art is beautiful and crafted by truly talented individuals with fitting titles. But then, theres the artist's putting a tiny red dot on a giant canvas and calling it "Echoes of the Unseen, " claiming it's a profound commentary on the underrepresentation of minorities or some shit.

My wife apprenticed with a sculptor for a while after high school. During one of their shows they accidentally left a ladder with a broom leaning against it out of the floor. They noticed that people were examining it like it was art. So they put a sign that said “Work in Progress” on it with a price tag. Someone bought it. They had a good laugh about it.
In modern art, the real art is convincing the fools that it is art.

There's a museum with a chair as art and it has to have a sign on it saying "Do not sit" as people think its just a chair if you're tired of walking around! 🤣
