Taking a Temperature

In our home, rectal temps are still the most accurate, especially during COVID.

When I go to the doctor I'm tempted to sit in a hot car and drink hot coffee beforehand so that my oral temp is elevated and require a rectal temp

God, Rectal temps really creep me out, i do not want one, i'd run if i ever do

At my MS clinic they often ask for rectal temperatures due to possible nerve damage. Is that common?

Is this for real. A 5yr old knows how to take a temperature. And no adult gets a rectal temperature. Why would they even show this.
