Let’s go watch dirt!

In this episode of the vlog, Aaron and the BW crew (Eric, Kjell, and Angel) headed out to Worcester, MA to visit J.R. Vinagro on a HUGE commercial development project.

The job site they visited was just shy of 100 acres where JR Vinagro was building out a four-story commercial development for an undisclosed company. They had about 1.5 million yards to cut and fill. Talk about a lot of dirt to move!

What was unique about this project was how fast their customer wanted to get this building up and ready. JR Vinagro was expected to have 1/3rd of the building ready in just 6 weeks, and in 8 weeks they had the whole building pad graded.

The key players on site were a CAT 6015B and a CAT 395. They were mainly running Volvo 40 ton trucks, but there was at least one Volvo 60 ton truck.

Aaron also talks about the importance of contractors utilizing rock on site to crush, instead of needing to import extra material. It helps save a lot of money and material when done properly. Unfortunately they weren't running the crushing spread on the day of the visit, so there's no active crushing footage.

The second site took the crew out to Providence, Rhode Island to see JR Vinagro’s recycling/processing/wood yard where there are ENORMOUS piles of firewood. (They do over 2000 cords a year)

They haul the timber from land clearing projects and put it through a machine that splits it into firewood. WAY faster than using an ax.

The second wood yard brings in all of the brush, stumps, and “not good” wood. They throw it through a processing machine that shreds it and turns it into fine mulch that landscaping operations and people will buy to keep their trees and bushes nice and happy.

Everything they do there is about recycling and used to turn into reusable products which is super cool. It’s not just cutting trees down. There’s thought behind it.

PS. Bonus content in this episode includes an original Caterpillar 988 and 988F. Enjoy!

I just noticed over 50K subscribers. Well done. I like the new video.s as well. More vision of the machines in work rather than just scooting over them.

Seriously need to check out WL French Excavating in Billerica, MA. One of my personal and favorite customers. They’re a name everyone knows in New England. Very big in the Boston market. They have 395 they just added! Nice to see some home state jobs.

That handful of mulch has been dyed. It doesn’t come out like that naturally. Not that it’s bad. The end user likes the look of that product.

Ok just subscribed since i saw your videos for 5 mins. Im in construction, sort of,

The video that talks about your company. What do you and the people around you know about the dirtworld? Have you worked in the business? Since Aaron keeps cleaning his hands everytime he touches a crawler and in the oilsands video he said to the cameraguy "dont back into that, your jacket will get dirty" 🤣🤣🤣

Just wondering! As said, love the channel, the insight, the videography!
