'Argentina: Fans and Police CLASH After World Cup Parade Shut Down'

What was meant to be a monumental celebration ended with violent clashes between police and football fans.

Violence erupted in Buenos Aires after police arrested fans who had broken into the city’s historic Obelisk Monument.

Fans hurled stones and glass bottles at police, who in turn fired rubber bullets and water cannon.

This goes far beyond the World Cup win. The win was just a catalyst of deeper political issues. Stop blaming it on alcohol and comparing this with Qatar’s alcohol ban. People are angry with the government and the poverty they are suffering from. Sad but true. This could have happened anywhere there is discord between the common people and the powers at be.

Did everyone really think an unprecedented amount of people wouldn't crowd the streets again on the same day we saw a huge turn up when the players arrived from plane on that same morning at 3am. They could have helicoptered the team to a safe destination for meet and greet show of support, rather then take the snail pace, bus route again.

This is why we passed on the World Cup Kickball Tournament being held in the United States since 1994. But Canada and Mexico offered to pay 90% of the Host Country fees. So now we are stuck with the World Cup partially being played in the United States again. There are almost always RIOTS! England, France, Indonesia, Italy, Germany, and Poland. I say keep the World Cup in Europe or South America.
