This is pathetically hilarious. An average of 3 crashes a year that are considered worth investigating, one fatality, and all this fanfare. If direct statistical comparisons would be used, to put things into perspective, it would become even more apparent how NHTSA seems to be in ludicrous mode.

I never thought and it has always been clear to me that Tesla has never claimed that their cars were fully self driving to this date.

I've never for a hot second felt autopilot made my Y self driving. Made a highway trip a bit less stressful, sure, but self driving... Not at all! It does dumb crap all the time.

Great video Dillon. I loathe when someone, this time it's NTSB, makes a vague general announcement; especially about a safety issue, and the media reports it, skipping the details (the lump on cable talking to Cramer) going right to the gossipy 'Oh my, what if his wife found out...' nonsense.) The San Diego guy was spot on. So don't drive my Tesla late at night while drunk. How is someone smart enough to buy a Tesla yet dumb enough to do this? I guess there's a couple dozen out of over a million.
FSD has bugs, but overall I think when it's all said and done Tesla's FSD as released to the public over the years clearly has a phenomenal safety record. Last Friday I did a 740 mile drive up California's coastal Highway 1, almost all of it FSD. It performed amazingly well. The twenty minutes or so I had to do the driving was annoying. It's all about the work flow (shifting attention between instruments, road ahead, behind, etc....)
