One day I was scrolling through Spotify, browsing the playlists that had been made for me. I saw this new plays list callled Lowley, filled with new RNB and slow jam type of music. The very first song on that playlist was Why by Manana, and I instantly fell in love with it. Everytime I would go back to the playlist I would have to replay Why at least a couple times just to play it out of my head because I loved it so much. Finally I decided to listen to Our Broken Hearts Mend, and as I was going through the album enjoying the listening experience I finally got to Hold Me Tight. And it instantly became my new favorite song. The chorus grips me every single time, the melodies, so calm but so beautiful, telling a love story that feels so warm and inviting. The production is something to marvel at as well honestly this whole album top to bottom is a work of art. But the production on this song, the way the verses lure you into this nice little bouncy beat punctuated by guitar strings, and then boom the guitar fades out the beat changes and suddenly you’re wrapped in the melody. You hear this man slowly and magically serenade you whilst the background sounds distinctly like a heart beat. This is the song I want to think about when I fall in love. I would to get married to this song. This song will forever be with me.
