Ias officer was absolutely correct on his place, there is no requirement of suit and tie in summers...
Hon ble Judge is just trying to assert his authority for no reason

The honorable judge should have maintained some respect and calmness in his words even if he was willing to give some suggestion regarding the uniform or so (which was not so important) . considering his responsibility and the position he holds, he is expected to be even more calm, polite and respectful towards others. This calmness and a sense of respect can be clearly seen in the principal secretary sir. The kind of assertion that everybody puts on each other should be stopped as it becomes very harmful for the overall working of every system whether it is executive or judiciary or anything. Honorable judge should have kept in his mind that it will send a wrong message for him especially who himself is on a very responsible position.

Judge has satisfied his ego. Judges in India are wasting time in petty issues, hence, many cases are pending in courts.

Dress code is for judicial officers, serving police and defence personnel who attend Court. For civilian government officers light colour full hands shirt and formal trousers is the unwritten decorum for attending court. The officer who attended the Court in person came with decent dress. I am very happy that the officer is addressing the Court "Sir", "Sir" and not using self-humiliating words like "My Lord", "My Lordship" which were left by colonial rulers.

There is nothing wrong in the dress of the IAS officer. The judge is simply showing his supremacy over bureaucracy.

Judge is just showing his supremacy over the ias officer whish is very immature behaviour

In the course of safeguarding the etiquette and dress code of court, I think the judge forgot courtesy to treat every human, I can see the efficiency of the collegium system

Even if the officer is not in the exact dress code, the judge can say the same thing in a decent way because both the positions are of high calibre and no one has the right to scold each other in any way.

If there's a certain code.
Just mention it.
There was no need to degrade him like this.

As per SC's order/direction an IAS officer should appear in front of court in a Decent and Sober dress. As it is clearly seen in the proceeding that the officer is wearing a Decent and Sober White shirt. And also there is no such privisions in any law that an IAS officer should wear Coat and Tie in front of court. And it's an officer's choice that whether he wear a coat and tie or simple pant shirt, but it should be decent and sober.

There is NO law, NO rule, NO convention, that IAS officers have to wear a tie in court!

It would have been an excellent utilisation of time if the hon. judge would have been focused on the subject matter of the case rather than schooling the high ranked IAS officer on petty issue like dress code. In my opinion, our judiciary is still living in the colonial hangover and doesn't wants to get out of it
Mr. Secretary had far more responsibilities and duties to perform and the judge had wasted his precious time, perhaps the judge doesn't have much more work to do that's why he's been wasting others' time.
