Why Evercade needs to sign Sega

Evercade has been teasing a new deal it's signed with a big name, but won't say who it is. Surely it's Sega? In this video I examine the kind of Evercade carts Sega could make if it took the plunge and signed with Blaze's excellent retro hardware brand.

Nice video! I hate Sega for neglecting their history. They simply don't care for anything besides Genesis/Mega Drive. I would love to see more mini consoles made by them or Evercade cartridges with their aracde games. We need a home release of their great arcade collection. Why does nobody care?

I confess I didn't understand the appeal of Evercade when it came out. Why were people paying for an emulation handheld that could only run a highly curated, by means of what could be licensed, list of games when for the same money a retro handheld could be bought that would run all the same titles and many more.

This came to an end when discussing this in the pub with a friend and they pointed out "they aren't selling this to people who want to play games, they are selling to people who want to collect games". That's when it clicked for me, Blaze have successfully tapped into the collector mentality that so many people have.

It would be awesome if we had Sega games ranging from Genesis, Master System, Game Gear, Sega CD, Sega 32X and some iconic arcade titles from the 80s and 90s. I don't know if they'll be able to do Dreamcast games, but Saturn games would be trickier, given they're harder to emulate.

I would love to see a Road Rash Collection.

Blaze (Evercade's parent company) has already had dealings with Sega when they did their Mega Drive plug and play devices years ago. They had licensing deals for the Sonic games, Baku Baku Animal, Alien Storm, Columns, Vector Man, Mean Bean Machine and many others. It could put Evercade in a different league if was to happen but probably wont. Licensing deals are getting more prohibitive these days. Konami could be doing a cart collection also but also probably won't.
Turtles In Time and Contra would do wonders for Evercade sales.

Interesting. Could be pretty cool to see some Sega on Evercade. If there’s one thing that grabs my interest it’s Sega so I’d be interested in seeing what they do were they to start putting stuff out on it.
Good video mate!

One thing I'd like to see for evercade is a dualshock like controller for 32-64 bit games

0:16 Passes quality assurance checks??! You seems to be new to the Evercade scene... Blaze delivers anything except quality checks....

Just found this vid. Very enjoyable, however the majority of the games mentioned are licenced from other 3rd parties, making it much harder for Blaze to get them, as they deal with Sega and the other 3rd party. I do feel though you pin a lot of this on the handheld devices, when some people much prefer the VS as well.

Good video though and I would love Sega on Evercade but struggle to see how they can get the right balance that people want.

If Sega joined with Evercade they would kick Nintendo into touch and rule this type of gameing once again.

Blaze have hinted that something big is coming this year. Sega has always felt like too much of a stretch…. But as their spokesperson is fond of saying “never say never”.

Great video. I'd buy all of these day one. This would send Evercade into the stratosphere. However while watching this I couldnt help thinking why does Sega not create their own cheap hardware that can deliver all of the things talked about here or maybe a subscription service with all of this. Well plans may be in the works with the mass delisting currently happening so who knows.

Oh boy would I love to see some Model 2 titles come home! Especially the ones that never saw the light of day at home

Big YES, we need Sega, especially arcade and 32X, especially with the alpha now out, imagine Space Harrier on the Alpha, oh the sound the quick pickup and plays… oh yes please.

I would buy an Evercade cartridge with the Deep Fear/Blue Stinger games on it...

Putting the Master System versions of those games would make more sense. To be honest Evercade need to sort out their Discord before they begin signing anyone else up. It's an incredibly hypocritical and toxic place. 😆

The original resident evil games would make a great cart

We need a purple cart of SEGA game, so many arcade exclusive and/or Japan only games.

These young kids running Sega would sell the name in a heartbeat surely or is the Evercade too retro for them 🤷🏼
