When we understand why we dream, we can discern what might be troubling our clients and causing them to over-dream. In this video I share the latest understanding on why we dream, from Joe Griffin, and the consequences of over-dreaming.

I explain why 'dream dictionaries' aren't helpful, and I give 3 tools you can use instead to help figure out what's bothering your client's unconscious mind.

Many decades ago, I had a dream in which I did something terrible and people were angry with me. Upon awaking, I was perplexed by the dream because I had done nothing terrible like it in reality. But when I discarded the specifics of the dream and examined just the feelings in the dream, I discovered a matching event. The previous day I had started playing a Star Wars computer game named "TIE Fighter" in which I played the role of a bad guy blowing up good guy spaceships. And even though the game was fun, I still had a subtle feeling of guilt at doing fictional bad deeds which was magnified in the dream.

Thank you so much for this video! Do you have any advice or insight about how to work with ptsd nightmares? I have found the technique in the video helpful for a lot of dream content (finding the unprocessed anxiety), but I still get stuck with ptsd nightmares.
