engaging with this bc this young lady should be known for her swimming and not being swept up in hateful rhetoric and its immediate reactionary reward. she is a talented female swimmer, and i won't engage with any other videos and scream at a young woman to stop what she's talented at, to give up, to force my belief on her young mind.

i hope that goes the same for all young women, although i know it doesn't. young women like this get used by men in media to prove their points instead of celebrating the woman's achievements - i wouldn't know who this is nor who lia thomas is if random old men weren't using their microphones to make teen girls universally feel like shit.

what if we considered why it's strange that adult male TV and radio hosts with no known relatives or goddaughters in teen girls' sports watch teen girls' sports with such intensity? i ended up here bc i was looking for a friend's account with the same first name as swimmer riley here and i was bewildered. glad at least one of her achievements isn't overshadowed by unnecessary discourse and is just film highlighting athletic ability. for a debate regarding ostensibly just ability and young girls' safety, we sure do discard the celebration of ability and the safety of these girls a whole lot.

i know i'll be lost in the wind here, and maybe i'm hypocritical to place this on this video, but i don't want to interact with a video that isn't this young woman achieving something for being an incredible swimmer. this is a show of her talents and i congratulate her for that. it's kind of bizarre to me that they think a girl like riley isn't tough enough to beat a trans girl when she's this badass in swimming. trans women are women, why are we harassing children about it?

She came in 5th place as did the swimmer she is talking about. They both came in fifth so they were both beaten by four females. Get it right!
