I've tried it and I think it goes like this:
-hold all your hair so that it's on the top of your head or a bit lower, as if you were tying your hair in a ponytail
-make a donut with your hair by rotating the untied ponytail around your index and your thumb (use those fingers as if they were your hair tie) and hold the donut with your fingers in the middle while you hold the rest of your hair with your other hand
-knot your hair by opening the donut's hole big enough to let your ponytail slide (or be pushed) through it
-tuck the end of the knot under the bun
-secure your not-so-messy bun or not, you do you
Gg you're done!

I have hair almost down to my butt so I don't know if this works on shorter hair.

Also I've watched the video again and I'm not sure if this is exactly what she's done, but my method seems to be working lol
