Red gemini 5k low light test footage.

On the fly test with the NEW RED DIGITAL "GEMINI 5K" No lighting used, just simply the ambient street light that existed. Shot in lowlight mode with ISO ranging between 1600-3200 with an f-stop ranging f4-f8. We even shot upwards of 96fps in a few scenes! The camera is extremely clean in low light scenarios even when you push the ISO high! Not a scientific test, just something to simply test the camera in these low light scenarios on the fly.

I own a Red Gemini and something has been bothering me for a long time about it. It's as if the image looks plastic and it's also hard to get the image completely in focus even at higher apertures.
Finally it hit me that there's probably some strong noise reduction going on which which basically removes a lot of the fine details. It's actually bad enough that I'm probably going to sell my Gemini.

I'm assuming you used Tropic Colour LUTs on the footage (and really sorry if I'm wrong about that), but I'd LOVE to know which pack this is from. That green and yellow grade is so, so nice!

Was this shot at a very narrow shutter angle or is the camera op just a shaky one? The shutter tear seems "jerky".

Hey man you are probably the sole reason I decided to go red (after the red footage download post). Long story short I went from thinking about a raven to instead deciding to get the Gemini, but I'm thinking about sending back the gemini (which is unopened) and getting the helium 8k. What are your thoughts?

Yo Jakob, keen to hear your thoughts on if you feel the Gemini has a different "Look" to other RED cameras. RED has always been known for its specific look and colour science and although we are always blown away by what we see come out of the Gemini, we cant help but notice it doesnt have that "RED" look. Keen to hear your thoughts on this.

Do you guys feel the Gemini has a more "video" look.. compared with other sensors? like Helium, Dragon etc? or is just me?... anyone? I think they call it "futuristic look".... I'm still more into old cinematic, but those are just preferences, is it true?
