Archaeoacoustics, Elongated Skulls & Missing People in Malta’s Subterranean Megalithic Labyrinth

Malta is one of the most mysterious islands in the world. A prehistoric civilization once thrived here building megalithic sites all over the landscape, yet its most mysterious site lies hidden deep underneath the ground. Known as the Hypogeum of Ħal Saflieni, this subterranean labyrinth of interconnecting elliptical chambers was engineered straight from the bedrock and features three different levels. This mysterious site features an oracle chamber that resonates throughout the entire structure where 7,000 + skeletons were discovered inside - most of whom possessed elongated skulls. Who were these ancient humanoids? Strangest of all, stories from the 1920s recount how a group of children descended down into the Hypogeum never to return again...

The Hypogeum was almost certainly built before the Mediterranean existed. From what I've been able to gather, when it was excavated it was found to be packed solid with (ETA >> dried alluvial) mud and the jumbled skeletons of several thousand people - among which were many that weren't strictly human, which is why almost all the remains have been made to disappear. It seems to me that whatever purpose the Hypogeum originally served, people some 12, 000 - 13, 000 years ago tried to use it as a survival shelter but to no avail - the flood easily reached its elevated location as the lowland plains surrounding what is now the island of Malta were flooded almost overnight and transformed into the Med.

I am an American who had an office and a villa on malta for 30 years. Even though I have been to the island probably a hundred times, I never knew about any of this. I was always working and flying back and forth to Libya while I was there, so I didn't do the tourist stuff. Malta is a very old civilization that has been conquered by just about every major empire of the last 3000 years. Today the Maltese people are a mixture of many different cultures and it is obviously a much more interesting place to visit than I thought!

This was where they lived not just a temple, I was there several times in the mid-60s and only part of the 3rd floor was close then and the guide said it was because some people had disappeared down there, they didn't say it was childeren at the time. The skulls were on display and one of them was more like some of the really old ones in South America it was elongated more straight up.They would take them out of the cabnet and let you ge a better look.

Emmanuel Magri, the original archaeologist, was an ordained priest and member of the Society Of Jesus. I’ll let you decide whether his report was actually lost or it just didn’t line up with someone’s narrative

There is another story of one of the writers from the National Geographic names Miss Jessop (can’t remember her first name) she went down with a group and a tour guide who refused to go down a certain tunnel with them but they all went with a lamp. She said she nearly stepped out into nothing and below was a chasm and about 30 feet below on the opposite side was another ledge and 2 doors one on each end of the ledge. Out of the right hand door came about 7 giants who were all walking in Union and very slowly. Suddenly they all stopped and looked up at the group and they all stretched out the hands and pointed at the group. At that exact moment came a wind which blew out the lamp 🪔 and they all fled back up the tunnel in terror.

The cart ruts on some Med islands end at one cliff edge, pick up on the next, some go underwater. Anything with an appx 400ft depth or shallower, was likely above ground during the ice age. Temples would have been mountain tops, which are now islands.

Are you aware of the scholarly archeoacoustic studies from around 2012-2017, by an Italian team that tested several sites, Gobekli Tepe, Hypogeum, Sogmotar, several others that have artificial archeoacoustic properties, standing wave, which a few have dual resonance frequencies?

We have billionaires quite happy to risk their lives going underwater to see the titantic, and yet Malta won't allow the best cave explorers to go and take a look in order to fully map out the area?!?!? Weird.

They just LOVE using the number 33!

Not 30, 000 estimate, but the archaeologists felt there were an additional 3, 000?

They sure love communicating to each other through their Royal number, 33
