A lot of people don't seem to understand this "roast", allow me to explain it to the best of my ability. The speaker enlightens Ghaul on how a guardian earns their light, even explaining how they require sacrifice and devotion, Ghaul has none of those traits, he wouldn't be willing to sacrifice for the Traveler and he thinks just by taking it, he'll get the power. The speaker tells Ghaul, that maybe if he kills himself since he lacks the traits and the speaker knows he doesn't have the same traits required for light, he'll become one with light, a guardian which in the end, he doesn't end up becoming and dies out of his own greed and unworthiness.

The fact that the speaker can roast Ghaul so hard even after he was tortured excessively shows how strong the speaker really is.

To those who literally have NO IDEA what's going on or what Destiny story is like (its very big, so yeah):

This is a roast from the Speaker (guy chained up) to Ghaul (big menacing guy in white). In this scene, Ghaul interrogates the Speaker on how he can obtain something known as "the Light, " which basically gives certain people (known as Guardians, but unimportant here) magical space superpowers. This "Light" is given by a giant, floating, white ball called the Traveler, and Ghaul had the Traveler captured during his interrogation to see if he could take the Light for himself. Turns out he wasn't able to, so he asked the Speaker how to, since the Speaker apparently "speaks" for the Traveler, hence the name.

(This is where the video begins) The Speaker then tells Ghaul that the Traveler gives the Light thru "death, " to which Ghaul says "Death... explain." The Speaker replies, "Devotion inspires bravery. Bravery inspires sacrifice. Sacrifice leads to death. So, feel free to kill yourself." This is more than just the Speaker telling Ghaul to go unalive himself. Essentially, in those sentences, the Speaker tells Ghaul EXACTLY HOW someone obtains the Light. It is not something taken, but given. In order to obtain the Light, one must have devotion to the Traveler. That devotion, in turn, would inspire bravery in the person. If they're brave, then they will lay their lives on the line, possibly sacrificing themselves. If that's the case, then they will die because of their devotion and bravery for the Traveler's sake. The Traveler would then reward them with a resurrection alongside the ability to wield the Light.

However, after outlying that, the Speaker then simply tells Ghaul to unalive himself because he has no such qualities. He is not devoted, nor brave, nor willing to sacrifice himself. In fact, straight-up unaliving himself may be the best chance he EVER would have at obtaining the Light, and it would be futile anyways. Basically, the Speaker turned into Low Tier God.
