Amsoil bypass oil filter kit 2006 Volkswagen Jetta

Thanks for showing this. I recently purchased a 2012 Jetta Sportwagen TDI and want to do the same, as a long time user of Amsoil bypass in an 05 Toyota Echo, yes you read that correctly. Been in for almost 14 years. With 222000 miles, still runs like listening to a sewing machine.
2 questions, is the only way this install will work is the single remote filter. I have an extra dual remote filter, but I'm guessing accessing the car's filter location with a coupler makes it impossible to do this. Do you think the coolant bypass is necessary to do in retrospect to your own install experience. I can do it, just haven't taken a close enough look at where to tie in my lines. Again, this was very helpful.

Just purchased an 06 Tdi and was thinking about putting one of these one it. What was the purpose of modifying the connections off the OE filter housing?
