Genuine problem solving skills is criminally underrated, If you have good problem solving skills, Analytical thinking then you should not worry at all.

Many people still underestimate the potency of GenAI, and it's easy to see why. Our history shapes our perceptions. But what sets GenAI apart is its unique ability to engage in meaningful conversation and problem-solving without constant human oversight. Unlike traditional automation, which relies heavily on human intervention, GenAI can tackle tasks independently. Looking ahead, we envision a future where GenAI operates with agency structures, seamlessly carrying out human-like tasks with remarkable efficiency and distributed capability.

I think most people are ready to learn.. But companies and the managers are not that willing to change

Main thing is Problem Solving skills in any technology, as a IT employee, we all are solving business problems, so any technology solves business problems, if you are not a problem solver than learn any technology will not help you, thats why Product Based Companies only looking from a candidates is problem solving skills not technology or trends, because technology is coming and going but problem solving skills always there.

Yes. I also believe new roles would be created and people who can learn to use these new tools get an advantage.
But effect of Gen AI especially in IT services industry is understated, currently AI can code better than 90% of coders with incredible speed and cost. In a few months it would go to 99%. Personally I have be testing the coding ability of Clause opus and gpt 4.5, it can code accurately for 90% of use cases. This implies just like media, accounting etc.. IT servies is going to have a big transformation.. For typical projects head count required could go by 1/10. And for roles like testing, maintenance it could go by 1/50. In 5 - 10 years time only specialist programing projects and roles would exists rest can be handled by clients IT dept themselves.. This is my prediction hope this does not happen quickly.

Gen AI will not take jobs but it will reduce the complexity of work, so like Solution Architect, STE, RTEs may affect!

It think this is overhyped. See what has happened to data science. Most of these scientists work as analyst or data engineers. And very handful gets to do the serious data science work and are usually the ones with decades of domain experience and in most cases have a background in research and are usually PHd holders. Same with AI. To develop AI you need a very sharp astute mind as it is really really complex. I think what you are referring to is to gain knowledge to apply AI tools in your own workspace. That is not difficult at all and will never be in demand. Remember, highest paid consultants and employees are the really really good programmers and engineers (and not the so called data scientists)
