I've wanted to make music really badly for a really long time and it's always sounded kind of unapproachable but this makes it seem a lottle less scary so thanks Hushy I also ordered one of your CD's a few days ago and I'm super excited for it :3

Just a helpful tidbit (whether or not you know of it or not) for changing pitches you can just click the tab where it says velocity (it's a drop down) and select fine note pitch and use the little "trees" at the bottom to change the pitch.
Also you can do pitch shifts (I love using them on crashes to make a "Pewwwssshhh" noise) by clicking the triangle in the green box in the upper left and placing a note under which ever slice you want to pitch shift. The lower the note is on the roll the lower the pitch it will shift to (i guess that's kind of obvious) and the length of the pitch shifting note determines how fast the note on the piano roll will shift.

I have no idea if you know this shit or not I just thought it was cool when I found out about it.

I've spent about 2 weeks trying to found out how to do this, but I actually decided to watch this one instead of skipping ahead. I didn't know slicex did that and now im mad at myself for not paying attention

Maybe I'm just old but that sounded a lot like Jungle.... Regardless of how old I am and how many new sub genres exist today, that was a nice tutorial, good work! 👍🏽

I like mixing it with beat repeat in ableton, similar to the arp roll process

wow wow, I need me some fruityloops! I've been using stagelight and have just been cutting up drum loops piece by piece, tedious stuff. Doesn't help stagelight crashes frequently and you lose everything. Welp, I'm off to get fruityloops and will be back, thanks

You can go in (File → New from template → Minimal→ Empty) to have an empty project without the shitty overused Kick, Clap, Hat and Snare.
