I love this "Don't Throw Your OLD PC Away" ... this is hilarious, his rig is from around 2020 !
The rig I currently use is a Gigabyte mATX MB, with a AMD Phenom II x4 940 CPU, FROM 2008,
running Windows 7 Pro ... and it still works !

That's why I love PCs versus laptops! Nicely done!😊

I did the same with my TUF gaming MATX B450. Upgraded the BIOS, Put a 5800X3d from a 5600X & Upgraded to EVGA 3080 XC3 from a 3060. This was cheaper route to go instead of an AM5 board & DDR5 memory. Happy AMD extended the life of AM4.

Yes Brian of course it was worth it and I do like your honesty about making it the best way for the client.

I upgraded the 3900x in my X570 Taichi with a 5950x and used the 3900x to upgrade the 3600 in my X570 Steel Legend backup computer because I do a lot of video editing and rendering. I ended up giving the 3600 to someone who needed it more than I needed the extra money.

Just adding a SSD drive (for the OS) to a computer without one can really make a difference in it's performance.

During the pandemic most gamers would purchase Pre-built PCs as purchasing a GPU was difficult at best. Many Pre-built PCs have a tiny case, a very low wattage Power Supply (PSU) and are often paired with an Intel CPU which means that you can only upgrade to the next generation (at best as motherboards like the B460 cannot be paired with a 11400F) all of which make upgrading impossible.

3800x is from 2019, not really considered "old" unless you're as posh as you Brian

Enjoyed the vid. Have thought about building my own PC but chickened out. 🐔 Got a local PC shop to do it for me back in 2008 (I did future proof it, hence why it lasted), wanted them to do same again last year but they'd been let down by customers. Did online job with reputable company to my specs. 👍 Again future proofed, Ryzen 9 5900X skimped on graphics card (RTX3050) but I don't game. Keep up the good work. 👍

That's not a old pc tho. let's be honest it could last in its current state for ages
Yes new parts are always good but that's not what I think of as old pc. Love your content keep up the great work.

Good video Brian, The question here is are going to make much money ? My thinking is that you will . You covered the technical side very well but I would like to see basically how you put the machine up for sale, shipping, payment etc.

Where is all the dust? I recently added RAM to my PC 2020 build and it was dirty! How is your PC so clean?
