Hello and welcome to some of the new people on this channel! I back film most of my content for at least a week or two, so this is filmed pre the lovely shout out from @katiejlumsden so I won't reference it directly in this video. But a lovely thank you to Katie and a warm welcome to new faces who haven't seen me before. I have an eclectic mix of genres on this channel, of which I think this TBR is fairly reflective of that. :)

Books Mentioned
Sense and Sensibility - Jane Austen
Coming Up for Air - George Orwell
Another Country - James Baldwin
The Man Who Tasted Words - Guy Leschziner
An Immense World - Ed Yong
The Darkness Echoing - Gillian O’Brien
In Monteparnasses - Sue Roe
Black Wave - Kim Ghattas
Summer House with Swimming Pool - Herman Koch
Circus of Wonders - Elizabeth MacNeal

Black Wave has been on my TBR forever. I am also hoping An Immense World will be really good!

I'm thinking The Darkness Echoing would be an interesting read due to the juxtaposition of "darkness" and "entertaining". I'm all for that! 😄

Emily, you could write the perfect book on working in a circus, think about it.

thanks for recommending Silent Fury a couple videos ago! I really enjoyed it, and it was a good follow up to Cobalt Red.

Blimey, electric mix, you're telling me. I am about to start Butter by Asako Yuzuki, the minute I saw the following on the back of the book 'There are two things that I simply cannot tolerate: Feminists and Margarine.' I just couldn't resist it. Enjoy your reading.

I really hope you like Sense and sendibility it's my favourite Austen book. I also dislike Emma, and Northanger Abbey is my second favourite.

I read An Immense world and yes, it’s good. But for me…. it was SO much information, my little brain is only going to hold onto so much. There are a LOT of footnotes in every chapter (too many it felt like). Wondering how that translates in an audio book?? 🤔 I so want to read I Contain Multitudes but am afraid of information overload 😵‍💫 Last year I committed to reading The Count of Monte Cristo in Q1 this year… 😬 Haven’t started. Looks like I’ll just commit to “2024”. 😂
