How to Play Blues Rhythm and Lead Guitar

Some people like to practice their blues rhythm guitar, some people like to practice their blues lead guitar, BUT CHAMPIONS DO BOTH!!! We're rocking out a version of some classic John Lee Hooker to play some call and response blues guitar!

Listen to the new album:

A little about me:

Sean Daniel is a man. A man of simple needs and desires. And the one desire, no, the one NEED, that stands above all is to spread the challenges, joy and intellectual stimulus of music to people of Earth and beyond.
Born on the mean streets of upper middle class suburban Chicago, Sean learned the ways of the world through the dizzying heights of success to the lonesome depths of failure and emerged with the promise of a better tomorrow reflecting in his eyes and fiery passion in his belly.
He plays and teaches guitar on his YouTube channel where he regularly releases original music and projects to the adulation of legions of fans, who often compare him to Chris Pratt and one time Ryan Reynolds. He’s currently in the market for a nice leather jacket.

Love that call and answer thing. The guitarists version of talking to yourself.

Excellent lesson sir SEAN
just imagine if today's children had teachers like you who make learning fun interesting and easy to teach mathematics and science, certainly many children will become scientists engineers doctors
God bless you sir and your family.

Perfectly explained to me. As a late starter on guitar (50 yo) I find many teachers assume stuff that you take time to explain and thanks. I get that feel and and variety of choices on interpretation is what makes the blues a unique style of music, but you got to know basic details beforehand.

I like these rhythm and lead lessons. Very good content. Would like to see more on the same topic with more blues and other rock ideas.

Good explanation. Hit replay a lot. A lot of what i write and do is call and response chant music ( kirtan ). So the call and response on the guitar is an excellent idea. Thanks

Great lesson Sean! Quick... concise...and to the point. I''ve pretty much "almost" got the blues sound you're playing...now I've just got to tell a few more friends to F-off to get the true blues vibe.

Sean your demonstrations are great but it's more informational if you explain the general idea of playing blues, rather than just starting the demonstration of your specific blues piece. Now it looks like: "how to play blues? follow my demonstration of this particular lick", but it would be more helpful to hear "blues is characterised by / consists of such and such, so lets use a few examples to illustrate the general idea (without explaining each single note..)"

Hope this helps. Great content nonetheless
