Transcript: This is a story about a boss who is visited by an old friend named Mr. Woodifield. Mr. Woodifield visits the boss once a week and the two of them drink whisky.

During one conversation, Mr. Woodifield mentions his family visit to the countryside, which reminds the boss of his deceased son.

The boss’ son was being groomed to take over the business; however, the son died in combat during a war.

As the boss contemplates the loss of his son, a fly lands in his inkpot. He helps the fly out of the inkpot with his pen and watches as the fly cleans itself. However, the boss drips more ink on the fly and continues to watch it struggle.

In the end, after watching the fly repeatedly clean itself from ink, the boss kills the fly by putting too much ink on the fly and forgets his sorrow for his son.
