Grant McOmie travels to the Oregon Coast on a hunt for "all things shiny" -

Agates are little rocky nuggets of silica that formed inside ancient rocks or shells millions of years ago and as the outer layer wears away the agate remains. I was surprised to learn that shoreline agates and jasper don't come from the sea, but originate high in the watershed.
Agates come in varied colors ranging from orange to red or pink to lavender -- even black.

I've been in Oregon many times and never get tired of it. there's always something exciting to do there. I'm only few days away from going there to spend a whole week. so excited can't wait!!!

I was lucky enough to find the largest carnelian agate to be shown online. youtbe Large Giant Carnelian Agate!!! It is 65 lbs.

I have millions of agates from the river. My grandpa got my mom into it and my mom got me and my sister into it.
