I can’t like this video enough! Great insight on how you should run your agency. We are absolutely in the relationship business.

We sell a product that is regulated by the state. My agency sells the SAME product that the agency down the street sells.

You can’t change your product but you CAN change your process.

The purpose of insurance is to insure. The mission of every player in the insurance industry should be to assist individuals, families, and organizations in identifying their unique exposures to loss and minimizing the likelihood of serious or catastrophic financial loss.

Fast, easy and cheap is the production and sales strategy of low-value commodity mass marketing. That assembly line approach may work when you're selling low-value, minimal-risk tangible products. That's not what the insurance industry sells or should be selling.

Thanks for making that point. This is a message we need to be telling the public, not investing billions in cutesy price-focused advertising. We should be sharing success stories that make it clear what is at stake, how close each of us are to financial ruin, and the role the industry plays in minimizing human tragedy.
