Lies of P Demo - Scrapped Watchman Boss Fight (No Damage Taken) / Scrapped Watchman No Damage Boss Fight Guide No Hit / Tutorial / How To Beat Scrapped Watchman Lies of P. Just a quick video showing the Scrapped Watchman boss fight in the Lies of P demo on PC. Details below.

Any reservations I had about the combat in this game, were pretty quickly resolved after fighting this boss for me personally. I think the 3 bosses they chose to begin with and have in the demo were a great choice to showcase the different playstyles required.

After the first boss (Parade Master), I was left thinking that dodging was pretty much useless and that it was going to be a completely parry focused game. I felt that it could use some changes, but I wanted to see how it played out.

The second boss (Mad Donkey), showed that the game was more than just a parry focus, and baiting out certain attacks would be optimal in some cases. In fact, the timing for parries on that boss was pretty unpredictable at times, and while possible, baiting certain attack patterns would be the safest play.

This final boss (Scrapped Watchman), showed that all 3 could be implemented to play with. You can go pure parry focus on this boss, or you can dodge most of the attacks too. On top of that, baiting out certain attacks and using movement to dodge them all will work well, which is what I used here. All of those approaches are common for these sort of games, and I'm glad it's not limited to the one playstyle fits all for every boss.

The only other real issues I had was both finding attacks very hard to anticipate, and backstabs being very unreliable. I think the first is probably a positive, as it's both by design of the game, and the nature of the puppet enemies moving in ways you otherwise wouldn't expect. With familiarity and more time on the game, I think it was be a non-issue. The backstabs however, particularly on Mad Donkey, were very unreliable. You'd see the indicator and hit the R1, but still it wouldn't work most of the time. Ultimately though, it's a minor issue.

After defeating this boss you also get a preview of the skills and perks you can unlock. One of those is to enhance dodging, so I'd think that would further alleviate any issues on that front. Overall, I'm pleasantly surprised by the demo, and my enjoyment of the game grew the more I played it.

Reading your descriptions in these videos, I honestly think you have really good and interesting insight to give in these games that could be their own video, even though that’s not your usual content. Maybe it’s because I’ve been watching your Destiny stuff for so long, but I genuinely value your analysis of the game, especially with the level of mastery you always show. If you ever decide to experiment with some commentary/analysis type videos, I think they’d be really interesting.

Did this boss take 2+ hours for someone else or am I just bad at this game?

1:29 the way it electrifies is literally the same as Darkbeast Paarl from Bloodborne and some other moves are very similar to Sekiro's Guardian Ape
Which, I think, was not intended as a ripoff but rather as an homage, kudos to devs for bringing us some scuffed but sweet Bloodborne 2 experience

I watched only 1:29 of your video... it helped me defeat the Scrapped Watchmen in 1 attempt afterwards.
Instant subscription. Your perfect block game is A-1.

I also played the demo, it took me a while to stop spamming dodge but I appreciate the sekiro style parrying. Definitely gonna pick this one up for the full game.

This was the fight where the mechanics of the game finally clicked with me.

The game demands that you master its mechanics, or you die. You have perfect blocking and dodging, but you can't rely solely on one or the other. You have to use them in tandem, stringing them together to avoid attacks. By doing so, you create opportunities to heal, sharpen, or even mess up once or twice.

This was an excellent boss fight; while the Parade Master taught you how to use the game's mechanics, the Scrapped Watchman was a brutal test of those skills you learned. If the rest of Lies of P is this challenging and satisfying to play, then I can't WAIT for September!

Took me forever to beat this boss and the Parade Master! Had to use a spector to beat this one, but I'm gonna try to beat him without it.

Guys, use the Krat Police Baton. You pick it up from a really tough enemy shortly before the boss for a reason.

How can you get no electric build up on his second phase !?

it's fascinating how you play every game doing flawless or no damage

For the first boss dodging can actually completely trivialize him in the 2nd phase. You bait the charge 2 hit attack and dodge twice and you get free damage > repeat.

After beating this final boss and the demo in one 3 hour sitting, I can say this is a strong souls like. Combat is really fun, enemies are well placed across each level, and the atmosphere is there. I think the lore with the whole puppets thing is kind of genius but the character dialogue does not match the tone of the game whatsoever. We are in the apocalypse and the wandering merchant with bandages on his face sounds like a chummy pal of mine. It’s like the fuck lol. All in all, minor nitpicks aside, really strong game. I had a lot of fun with it.

Edit: one comment about the parrying, it does feel inconsistent at times. Some attacks I need to tap parry earlier than others and other attacks I need to hold the parry button later in the attack animation. Kind of janky but these things aren’t an exact science.

Meh.Boss didn't even use three of his strongest attacks. The super long windup in phase 1 and in phase two the fast double swipe (not the one with the downward swing at the end, but the other one) aswell as the the perfect block AOE attack.

How is it that you are not damaged by electricity?

The mechanics could be more refined and tighter. I could see you disengaging to very far away as it was vague where and how you'd be safe.

I don't know how long it took to no-hit this but I could beat it in 2-3 tries with the AI help and it felt more like a chaotic damage race than an articulate dance of blades.

That on top of all the UI and UX issues made me lose a lot of excitement for this game.

I think i am a god of combat in this game, i have beaten him in as little as 5 tries, and got the parry right on the 2nd try, i died more because i did not pay attention to him

honestly this fight is so good. it's like phase 1 teaches u how to parry his basic attacks before he adds other things in phase 2 to worry about as you are parrying him so it doesnt just become total parry simulator where u stand in one spot parry trading everything, my biggest complaint so far in this game is honestly the dogs lol, as funny as that sounds, the dogs in this game are so soulless and not nearly as vicious as they should be. at first glance it seems to be trying to imitate bloodborne's atmosphere but after playing a bit u realise how different it really is despite how similar it might look, bloodborne is definetly the scarier game out of the 2, fromsoft just nailed that victorian era night atmosphere perfectley
