I still have problems finding the shifter when I jump into an automatic!! 😂🤣😂

Clutch seems to disappear too!!

My 2017 13 speed Kenworth was sent to the shop for clutch adjustment among some other things, and I came into work to see the keys to a 2022 freightliner sitting on my paperwork. Went out, pre tripped her, jumped in, turned the key, and about threw out my damn knee to push in the clutch that wasn’t there!

I’ve driven both automatic and manual. I’ll take the automatic every time when given the chance. I drive through DC and over the George Washington bridge twice a week. No way I’m killing my leg to push in that clutch in bumper to bumper traffic.

Been driving since 2003. The only time in a Freightliner was original training. Went with a new company after 12 years. I experienced the same thing this driver did in a Freightliner. The road tester passed me with ease.

Not knowing how to take the parking brake off is crazy. Run don't walk away.

“You know we’re in a Freightliner right now?” Lmao

I've been scared a few times while trucking... 2 of them where when I was in cdl school doing really well ad tests with a trainer and me and another student. The other was snow driving down the grapevine.

Screw the manual vs auto argument. You ain't a truck driver till you put max chains on a truck drive 70 miles and not one snowflake on the road.Thank you California

Manual transmission 13, 18, or 10 in that order.
Peterbilt, KW, Volvo, Freightliner in that order.

When you can't find the parking brake that's yellow and labeled "parking brake", I'd say that the trainer made the right choice.

When he said big trucks that told us all we needed to know. If you are a real and true truck driver you will be able to make the adjustments from one name brand to another your experience, skills, and knowledge will automatically kick in I have never had that problem from one name brand rig to another.

I drive a 2011 Freighliner 13 speed. Recently I was helping a new driver back up his new 2022 freigliner cascadia. He couldn’t do it and he kept on asking me do it for him. He simply even couldn’t trust himself. I entered into that rig and I’ve never felt soo diferent in a truck. I felt brand new.
