It’s sad that her mom can keep a smile on her face when she’s been abused by her husband for years. When mothers have bad things happening to them, they move it aside when their children are sad. No matter how broken they are they will come to their children’s aid.

My ex was Korean, I went to his house almost everyday for three years. His mom had a sweet voice like this and the cutest smile, I really loved her. Unfortunately her son was a manipulative and emotionally abusive person. I made so many excuses for him, when he cheated, when he lied, when he yelled, I looked past it because I thought that was unconditional love. Eventually with the support of family and friends I was able to get myself out of that relationship. It was horrible, to this day I wonder if I made a mistake even though I clearly didn’t. His mother had the same relationship with his father and so I really sympathized with her. I always wonder if she had left that toxicity earlier, would her son have turned out differently as a result? Either way, I still mourn the fact that she spent so many years in pain and that I couldn’t take her with me when I broke up with my ex. It makes me happy to see that even tho the mother on this show felt strongly she didn’t force those feelings on her daughter and supported her.
