Latest Texas Tech Football News
Josh Kelly continues to have a great camp for Texas Tech
According to multiple people I’ve talked to at fall camp, he’s the clear-cut WR1 for the Red Raiders
Kelly last season at Washington State had 61 rec, 923 yds, and 8 TDs
Jayden Cofield continues to shine in a deep interior DL group
McGuire has repeatedly said they have 6-7 guys they feel good about having in the DL rotation
As of now, I think Cofield may just be the best one
Cam Dickey could very well win the RB2 role outright in camp
The true freshman RB has continuously turned heads and is doing so with a unique skill set and frame
Texas Tech Football posted a video on their Twitter of Dickey scoring on an HB screen from 35+ yards out and reaching a top speed of 20.9 MPH at 215 pounds
Real quick, before we get into the bowl projections like the video if you want to stay in the know on all things Texas Tech Football this season

Correction: I meant Anderson helped Germany beat Serbia, not Siberia like I said in the video.

Not my finest moment 😅

Can’t wait to see what Cam Dickey does at Tech. He seems legit

Excited about this 2024 Class. In addition to Dickey, the future looks bright with Hammond and excited the early flashes J Williams is showing.

So 8-4ish type season....guess i could be "okay" with that, but Tech REALLY needs a breakthrough season to start getting on the CFB map...they just really need to get that 9/10 win regular season, and be set up for the 2025 season when everybody else on defense will have 1 full year under their belt...and in some instances, 2 or 3 seasons. Kittley, Morton, et al need to come out this season with a very strong offensive performance.

Cameron Dickey won the back up job a long time ago.

various:

Josh Kelly is a pro player.
I strongly believe Tech will move him around to get match ups they like and feed him then elevate Micah to that role next year.
The Tech WR corps is upgraded by an insane amount.
This is blue blood top 10 recruiting staff level receiving talent among the starters.

Tech has some legit worries and concerns but the pass catching and play making will be there. OL play and QB health will determine how good that side of the ball is. But Tech should have options to run versus quick, small teams and pass versus bigger, stronger teams. Play action should really cook for the first time in years.

Defense is young. Lots of talented depth but mostly unproven.

About 5th in the Big 12 is fair. The schedule sets up nicely and the young defense should get half a season of playing time to improve before the tough match ups occur.

I’m just wondering, with all of the changes in college football and the new expanded playoff, what happens in the crazy event that Tech has a one loss regular season and finishes just behind an undefeated Big XII team, or a 1 loss team? Does Tech miss the expanded playoff with the “weakening” of the Big XII and the easier schedule?

Nobody is ever going to five Tech preseason accolades. Except for Greg McElroy. I think it's better for Tech though. I'd rather we came out of nowhere to crush folks.

Christian Anderson had a great game leading Germany to a victory over SERBIA not SIBERIA in the Euro U 20 BB championship. I think Serbia had a better team than Siberia this year, ha! ha!
