Selling on etsy can be a great side hustle but it camln also be a pain in the ass. For example i live in ireland and i get a lot of customers in the US and some in austrslia .shipping the items i make to these places, combined with etsy fees means i barely make a profit on most of my items. However i think its important to build a good brand with positive feedback so i enjoy the process in the main

Etsy is dEAD dEAD dEAD. Whatever TF they did regarding their algorithm or changes in the last few months ruined everyone's shop. Sales, advertising etc have tanked over 60+ % And they have lost over millions if not billions of dollars in doing so. So thanks Etsy for ruining a good thing. I'll be closing soon as well.

Honestly, I have been enjoying your content and trusting you advice, until now. This video made me nervous. It seems to me that you decided to close your Etsy shop because it was only making 500 bucks a month. So, making videos on YouTube is easier and a lot more lucrative. A bit off topic but I love everyone's feedback on here. Can someone explain to me why sellers price their items at $5.27 instead of $5.50 or $5.00 they always have "odd" number at the end

The main issue i've been having with my shop is just social media. No matter what i do, my posts never go anywhere. So, my social media presence just never grows or gets out to people.
I know my niche (Papercraft skeletal structures of animals) is a very niche thing, but i can't even get the idea out there due to social media platforms just nuking my posts. And i post videos on how to build them here on youtube, but it's so disheartening to go through all the effort of filming the process and editing the video, only to get no attention.

The other thing i have noticed is, with comments on youtube videos in general. I've tried responding to people who have asked about my stuff here on youtube, and whenever i have tried to reply back, my reply never gets posted.

Etsy is a rip off. They say they charge 6.5% but with other charges and all they charge almost 40 percent of the total sale price. Stay away from etsy!
